Pro Media Tools is a suite of workflow tools designed to simplify media management and streamline workflows in Final Cut Studio, Final Cut Pro X, Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premiere for Mac.
The suite contains tools for detecting gamma shifts, editing QuickTime movie metadata, watching render files, editing markers, and much more. The applications are capable of outputting a variety of file formats to suit different editing systems and workflows.
ORGANIZE YOUR PROJECTS
Automatically sort clips into bins, collapse tracks and create project templates to ensure consistent project organization.
IMPROVE DSLR WORKFLOWS
Offload and verify your media, tag it with timecode and metadata, and conform slow-motion footage.
MANAGE CHAPTERS AND MARKERS
Mass-modify markers and convert marker lists to QuickTime chapters.
RENDER ALERTS
Get alerted when a render or export finishes. You can even send alerts to a mobile device.
MANAGE METADATA
Modify timecode, reel, scene and other QuickTime movie metadata. You can even add your own custom metadata fields.
CLEAN UP TIMELINES
Collapse tracks, remove disabled clips, strip filters and markers.
BATCH RENAME
Batch rename large quantities of files at once, renumber frames and close gaps. Great for DI workflows with large numbers of frame images.
FIX GAMMA SHIFTS
Repair gamma shifts arising from mismatched metadata.
QUALITY ASSURANCE
Scan and detect non-broadcast safe video files. Ensure exported files meet the specs of the network.
Pro Media Tools Contents
Auto Transfer
Automatically offloads from camera memory cards to your computer. It can copy to multiple destinations at once, verify the copied files to ensure integrity and even embed relevant metadata in a spreadsheet.
Batch Renamer
Renames multiple files at once with options including find and replace, frame renumbering, frame padding and more.
Edit Detector
Scans video files to locate where edits and scene changes occur. Can output QuickTime movies, marker lists, Final Cut Pro XML files and EDLs.
Gamma Shift Detector
Detects gamma shifts between source and destination media. It will tell you if the shift directly affects the pixels in the image or if it is just a mismatch in metadata.
Post Haste
Create folder structures for each project from customizable templates.
Project Overview
Provides a complete overview of your Final Cut Pro project, showing you all media, effects and markers. Data can be printed and modified en-masse. Can be used for mass-editing markers with offsetting, custom fields, label presets and the ability to import Avid locators into an FCP project.
Not supported by Avid Media Composer or Final Cut Pro X
QT Edit
Edits QuickTime movies. You can add and remove media, edit timecode information, modify chapters, change metadata and more. All changes are displayed in a real-time preview window. Media files can also be batch edited.
Quick Bins
Automatically sorts media into bins according to various criteria. Very useful for quickly sorting an untidy mass of dailies.
Not supported by Avid Media Composer or Final Cut Pro X
Render Watcher
Watches a set of directories, render files or Compressor batches and notifies you via a sound and Growl notification when renders are complete. Can be set to sleep, log out or shut down the computer when all renders are finished.
Timeline Tricks
Performs common cleanup tasks on sequences including replacing gaps with slugs, collapsing tracks, removing unused tracks and stripping filters.
Not supported by Avid Media Composer. Limited functionality on Final Cut Pro X
Video Check
Scans a video file for illegal luminance values, flash frames and audio peaks and shows the exact frame where errors are occurring. Can output results to FCP marker lists, Avid locators, CSV and text.
Supports OS X 10.6-10.7 but 10.7 is recommended
